Scottish Heritage Captured By Bell Ingram’s Sporting Estates
12Aug2011
As the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore for more than 600 years, Glamis Castle’s 14,000 acre Strathmore Estate boasts an impressive reputation for roe buck stalking as well as pheasant and partridge shooting.
While Bell Ingram has provided sporting and land management to Glamis Castle in Angus for the past 20 years, the firm will now drive forward the estate’s extensive sporting activities under their newly launched Sporting Lets division.
Charlotte Gilfillan, Sporting Lets manager, said: “To work with one of the best estates in the country is a tribute to the expertise and knowledge we offer in sporting lets.
“We have worked with the Earl of Strathmore for a number of years on various projects, but this new partnership will allow us to showcase the estate and its superb field sports opportunities to its fullest potential.
“Our focus is always on ensuring we expertly manage the marketing of the estate on behalf of the landowners, while also ensuring that visiting field sports enthusiasts have an unforgettable sporting experience. We are sure this service will create opportunities and benefits for both Glamis Castle and local businesses.’’
The Sporting Lets service, launched in May this year, is a specialist team headed by Charlotte and comprised of keen sportsmen and women who work with landowners and managers to market stalking, fishing and shooting activities at estates across the country.
Bell Ingram has already been credited with helping Glamis Castle significantly increase the number of roe buck stalking lets on its estate, increasing revenue three-fold.
John Wood, Factor of Strathmore Estate, said: “As a client of Bell Ingram, we have never been disappointed with the level of service we have received, and when it was announced that they were re-launching the sporting lets department, we were delighted to work with them.
“Strathmore Estates has one of the most prestigious shoots in Scotland, with pheasant, partridge and duck available, and in addition, it has an excellent reputation for roe buck stalking.
“Charlotte’s knowledge and contacts within the sporting world have been of great assistance to me and she has let our stalking and some of our shooting with great success.”
