Bell Ingram’s Falkirk Office Wins Lion’s Share of Environmental Justice Fund Budget
28 September 2007

The Environment Minister, Mike Russell visited Callendar Estate in Falkirk to announce a major funding award for urban edge green space projects in Falkirk. The project, which is valued at just over £800,000 will involve upgrading 13km of footpath and the rehabilitation of 86ha of neglected urban woodland.

The project also includes a number of initiatives to encourage local people to get involved in their green space, including support for existing community groups, measures to encourage outdoor training and education, a local film project and a celebratory event.

The funding award followed a successful bid prepared by Guy Wedderburn, Director in charge of the Falkirk office, which was submitted in April 2007. Bell Ingram has now been appointed as the Project Manager to oversee the delivery of the project and Guy Wedderburn commented “this has been an excellent project to rejuvenate a neglected area into something that the whole community can make use of, regardless of ability. I am really pleased with the standard of the work to date and we’re all looking forward to the successful completion of the project.”
