Bell Ingram and Turcan Connell Help Pave the Way for the John Muir Trust
20th September 2005

Schiehallion Working Party

A joint conservation working party staffed with members of both Bell Ingram Chartered Surveyors from Perth and Turcan Connell Solicitors from Edinburgh, recently strode up Schiehallion armed with shovels, heavy duty gloves and a pick. The day was organised in conjunction with the John Muir Trust in order to perform routine maintenance to the main path up the mountain earlier this month and a total of 15 willing volunteers gave up half of their weekend to take part.

John Muir Trust has owned Schiehallion since 1999 and has since been conducting a plan to re-align the main foot path whilst removing the ugly erosion scar of the original path. The Trust relies heavily on third party funding and support from volunteers in order to complete its work and so welcomed the joint efforts of the working party members. Both Bell Ingram and Turcan Connell are extensively involved in providing professional services to land managers and owners, in particular regarding paths and access and were only too keen to lend a much needed hand to assist in the Trust’s on going conservation work.

Alasdair Reynolds from Bell Ingram said “The day has been a huge success, not only from the John Muir Trust’s point of view but our staff have really enjoyed themselves and have gained an enormous sense of achievement.”
