COMPANY PROFILE
Bell Ingram dates from 1899 when H J Bell founded his
business in Perth providing professional land agency and
building surveying services to mainly private clients. In
the 1970s the firm merged with estate agents C. W. Ingram of
Edinburgh who specialised in sales purchases and valuations
of farms, estates, country houses and sport. The past 20
years saw considerable change and growth. In 1985 a
specialist subsidiary company Bell Ingram Pipelines was
formed to service the requirement for land agency services
in the Oil and Gas Industries. Bell Ingram now has offices
in Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Forfar, Ayr, Bonar Bridge,
Falkirk, Knutsford, Thirsk and Morpeth.
1999 saw the creation of a further specialist subsidiary,
Bell Ingram Design,
offering architectural and building surveying services in
the rural sphere. The Company provides a wide scope of
services including the following:-
- Farm and Estate management,
- property accounts,
- market appraisals,
- property sales,
- purchases and lettings,
- valuations,
- land use consultancy,
- moorland management,
- forestry and landscaping,
- conservation management,
- building design and conservation,
- wayleaves and compensation for pipelines and cables,
- and staff recruitment for specialist posts.
The service the Company provides is based
on an integrated approach and designed to suit clients large
or small, corporate, public or private. Until quite recently
the majority of the client base was in the private sector
however whilst that sector remains just as valuable to us we
have increasingly become involved with corporate and public
sector clients to the extent that this now accounts for an
equally large proportion of the business. The Management
Department has a high proportion of private estate clients.
Other departments have a higher proportion of corporate and
public sector clients particularly in the area of land use
consultancy. Private sector clients account for a high
proportion of business with Bell Ingram Design where the
renovation and conservation of rural buildings takes a high
profile but here too corporate and public sector clients are
now very important.
Bell Ingram Pipelines has expanded so that in addition to
providing services to clients in the oil and gas industry,
other utility operators in the electricity telecommunication
and water industries now also use our services.
Bell Ingram is committed to achieving the highest standards
of management practice possible. To this end the Company has
recently achieved accreditation under ISO 9001:2000.
Management and administration procedures have been
established throughout the Company and procedures manuals
have been developed for each professional discipline in
which the Company is involved.
