Tressady offers guests the opportunity to experience the traditional hospitality and elegance of a Highland sporting lodge situated within the privacy of extensive gardens and policies. The lodge is close to Sutherland’s east coast with an elevated south facing position and magnificent views across Strath Fleet.

Guests can enjoy the warm atmosphere of a beautifully furnished private house with open log fires and house staff to ensure your stay is a memorable occasion. Parties may choose to self-cater or employ the services of our cook who will discuss with you a range of menu ideas based on traditional Scottish recipes designed to meet every taste.

The lodge is fully furnished for parties up to twelve guests, with accommodation for a limited number of additional guests by arrangement. Lettings are weekly with guests arriving after 4.00 pm on Sunday and departing by 11.00 am on Saturday.

Dornoch and Golspie on the east coast provide a range of local services including shopping facilities, hotels, garages, post offices, health centre and gift shops. There is also a local village store and post office in Rogart. Inverness can be reached in a little over an hour by car and provides all the services of a major regional centre.

Guests have access to the Tressady Estate extending some 22,000 acres and offering a range of sporting activities when in season including red and roe deer stalking, driven pheasant, partridge, flighted duck, hill loch fishing and rough shooting. A full clay pigeon shoot is situated within the policies. Close to the lodge, Yves Loch provides guests with fly fishing for hard fighting rainbow trout before setting forth to the hill in search of the wild brown trout. A Glenalmond hill vehicle and Argocat are available with guide to take guests for a tour of the hill where red deer, golden eagles and red grouse among many other species may be seen.

Other recreational facilities close by include sea fishing from Brora, golf at Royal Dornoch, Golspie and Brora, swimming from numerous sandy beaches or the heated swimming pool in Golspie, pony trekking or simply visiting the many places of historic interest in this fascinating part of the Highlands. Dunrobin Castle, the ancient seat of the Earls of Sutherland, one mile north of Golspie is open to the public from May to September and is well worth a visit.
