There is a primary school adjacent to the site. Nearby Tain has a good range of shops. The city of Inverness is approximately forty minutes drive and has all the facilities commensurate with a major regional centre including an excellent shopping centre, theatre, hospital, mainline railway station and airport with numerous flights to a variety of destinations.

There is ample opportunity for recreational activities and these include hill walking, golf and all forms of country sports.

From Inverness follow the A9 north crossing the Kessock and Cromarty bridges. Approximately 17 miles after the Cromarty Bridge turn right on the B9166 signposted Portmahomack and Fearn. Continue to Balintore and turn left towards Hilton of Cadboll. The site is located on the left between the primary school and the farm buildings to the east.

The site is zoned for development by Highland Council as part of the Ross & Cromarty East Local Plan. The plan is for a total of 30 units to include a small number of affordable houses.
