DIRECTIONS

From the M90 Junction 8 take the A91 Cupar road. Pass through Auchtermuchty and after about 4 miles turn left at the Melville roundabout on the A92 Tay Bridge and Dundee road. After about 2 miles the steading can be seen on the right hand side.


DESCRIPTION

Lindifferon Court is the result of converting a traditional listed steading into stunning contemporary dwellings with advanced renewable energy features. This characterful range of steading buildings have been sensitively converted into four high specification houses. Whilst still maintaining the character of the existing stone buildings, advanced renewable energy features allow less reliance on fossil fuels, providing occupants with energy security for the future. The full height barn roofs are used to create generous, light filled spaces.

Heat requirements for the houses have been reduced by the use of super insulation and high specification double glazing. Ground source heat pumps gather heat from the earth and distribute it through under floor heating. A successful application for grants has been received from the Energy Saving Trust (subject to Terms and Conditions). This was made under the Scottish Community and Householder Renewable Initiative. Once the purchaser has taken occupation of the house, a grant of £4,000 will be payable to the owner from the Energy Saving Trust (House 1 Grant Ref: SHR 1815, House 2 Grant Ref: SHR 1737, House 3 Grant Ref: SHR 1814, House 4 Grant Ref: SHR 1813).

Provision has been made for the addition of either wind turbines or solar heating (subject to planning) and this would give potential to create close to 100% of the houses energy requirement on site.
