FISHING
The River Oykel is situated about 50 miles north of Inverness rising
in the Ben Assynt basin and flowing into the Kyle of Sutherland at
Rosehall. The Lower Oykel Fishings extend to 7 miles of double bank
fishing from the Oykel Falls to the head of the Kyle of Sutherland.
The river is let in four beats with three rods per beat. The top
beat (Beat 1) includes 0.75 miles of fishing on the River Einig from
the Einig falls downstream.
The four beats include 63 named pools providing some classic fly
water in magnificent surroundings. The Lower Oykel is fly only and
is let with a ghillie on each beat. Tenants are encouraged to stay
at the Oykel Bridge Hotel.
