The River Kanaird is located just a few miles north of Ullapool, and offers challenging fly fishing for both salmon and sea trout. The river is a West Coast spate river originating in the hills of west Sutherland and discharging into Ardmair Bay via Loch Kanaird. The Keanchulish beats occupy 4 miles of double bank fishing on the lower river before it enters Loch Kanaird. Salmon are known to enter the estuary in May and Sea Trout can be caught from July onwards.
