East Manse is being sold by Forfar: East, Old and Inverarity Church of Scotland - Registered Charity Number SC004921.
East Manse dates from the mid 1800s and is a substantial stone built property under a slate roof. It retains many of the typical features you would expect in a property of this period. A notable feature of the Manse are the very well proportioned public rooms on the ground floor, which are mirrored on the floor above providing sizable double bedrooms. In addition to the gardens, there is open ground to the side, and the elevated position provides an outlook over parts of the town and to the hills beyond.
A solid door with a glazed panel above opens into a porch then a further glazed door gives access to a reception hall. There are three large public rooms on the ground floor. To the right is the dining room with a window to the front and a shallow press cupboard. To the left of the hallway is a similar sized living room with windows on two sides, a recessed shelved cupboard and an open fire with a stone surround and a slate tiled hearth. A further family room is to the back with a window overlooking the rear.
The kitchen again is well proportioned, with a good number of wood-fronted base and wall units with a contrasting work surface and tiled splashback. There is a Belling gas range-style cooker with a hood above and plenty of storage in a pantry cupboard. There is ample room for a breakfasting table and chairs. The adjoining utility room has additional storage, a sink, plumbing for a washing machine and space for larger appliances. An external door opens to the rear garden and there is a window to the side. A connecting door from the utility room accesses a further storeroom/boot room. Also on the ground floor is a WC to the side of the stairway.
The curved stairway has a large window midway which floods the hallway with natural light. The upper floor has four very well proportioned bedrooms one of which has an en suite shower room, and the family bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.
