      Overview

      • Fabulous open sea views
      • Private stone jetty
      • Bothy with development potential (subject to necessary consents)

Seahaven is a charming coastal cottage which was built in the 1930s and has been restored to create a comfortable and desirable property in an enviable location. The cottage has far reaching sea and river views from all rooms; the tranquil setting makes this a prime location for seeing wildlife and bird life, with eagles being seen on a regular basis, and otters and seals also being seen. The property is beautifully presented and has been stylishly decorated throughout. It has modern electric panel heating and is fully double glazed and provides comfortable living accommodation. The garden area has been developed to increase flower borders and planting; the shore-line walling, private jetty and walkways have also been restored within the last 18 months.

Accessed by a path from the private parking area, a UPVC door leads to the entrance hallway which has a door to the bathroom. The bathroom has a three-piece suite comprising WC, wash hand basin and bath with electric shower over. There is a window to the side. A door leads to an inner hallway which has an understairs storage cupboard and stairs lead to the upper floor.

To the left of the hall is the sitting room which has dual aspect windows to the front and rear enjoying the super views. There is a central feature of a multi fuel stove on a slate hearth with a wooden mantle.

The kitchen has a good range of modern units with a black granite effect work surface. There is a Hoover washing machine, fridge, and freezer and also a Belling oven and grill with four ring ceramic hob and extractor. Again, the windows take in the lovely open water views to the front.

From the hall, stairs rise to the upper floor landing which has two storage cupboards – one housing the hot water cylinder. The landing gives access to two double bedrooms, bedroom one has built-in wardrobes. Both have windows to the front.

There is additional parking to the side of the property from where a path leads down to the front garden.

There is a bothy which has mains electricity and mains water and offers plenty of storage and has development potential (subject necessary consents). There is also block built shed for storage.

To the side of the house is an outdoor seating area laid to gravel which has a picnic bench and a is lovely place to enjoy the waterside location with views across the inlet and fields. There is a private stone jetty which provides easy access your your own boat. The jetty and walk ways make this an ideal spot for launching boats, kayaks or sea swimming. The remaining garden is mainly laid to lawn with planted flower beds and borders. There is a small fenced copse of mixed woodland to the side.

From Stornoway head south, or from Tarbert head north, to Ballalan on the A858. As you come through Ballallan take the turning on the left onto the B8060 road, which has brown information signs for Pairc and Ravenspoint Visitors Centre. Follow the B8060 for 6 miles until you enter the village of Garyvard/Gerraidh Bhaird. After you enter Garyvard follow the road a short way then take the next road that turns off on the left, down towards the loch side. This will take you to the house. (This turning is just after a red Royal Mail collection box on the right, and just before a BT phone box on the right). The property is on the right before you reach the end of the road and the main jetty. What3Words///ushering.grape.limelight
